Area 2A Non-treaty Commercial Halibut Fishery Closed

The International Pacific Halibut Commission estimates that the Area 2A commercial fishery catch limit was reached after the July 24 fishing period. As the commercial catch limit was been taken, no poundage remains to be "rolled" into the incidental catch fishery for the August salmon troll season. Therefore, the Area 2A commercial halibut fisheries, the directed and the incidental catch while salmon trolling, are closed for the remainder of 1996.
