Oregon All-Depth Sport Fishery to Re-open August 1 for One Day

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife estimates that 14,000 pounds of Pacific halibut will remain July 31 at the end of the sport halibut fishery restricted to waters less than 30 fathoms. The all-depth fishery from Cape Falcon (latitude 45°46'00" N) to the California border will re-open for one day on August 1. The sport fishery restricted to waters less than 30 fathoms will continue from August 2 through September 30 or until closed by the IPHC. The daily bag limit remains two halibut per person, one with a minimum overall size limit of 32 inches and the second with a minimum overall size limit of 50 inches.
