1999 Halibut Landing Report No. 6

Washington North Coast Sport Halibut Fishery to Close

Preliminary estimates through June 27 and projections through July 9 for the Washington North Coast sport halibut fishery (Bonilla-Tatoosh Line to the Queets River) indicate that the catch will reach approximately 87,500 pounds. The projected catch will be about 4,000 pounds below the 91,484 pound quota for the area. Insufficient halibut remains for further fishing. Therefore, the Washington North Coast sport halibut fishery will close for the season at 11:59 p.m. on July 9, 1999.

 

Washington Puget Sound Sport Halibut Fishery to Close

The Washington Puget Sound sport halibut fishery (east of Bonilla-Tatoosh Line) will close as scheduled by regulation on July 12, 1999 at 11:59 p.m.
