Southern Washington/Northern Oregon Sport Halibut Fishery Closes

Sport fishing for Pacific halibut from Leadbetter Point, Washington to Cape Falcon, Oregon closed for the remainder of the year at 11:59 p.m. Sunday, August 29, 1999. Preliminary catch estimates indicated that 7,423 pounds of the 7,747-pound quota for the area had been caught as of Monday, August 23. Fishery managers expected harvest of the remaining 324 pounds during the following week.
