2000 Halibut Landing Report No. 9
Columbia River Area Sport Halibut Fishery to Close July 29
Preliminary estimates through July 23 and
projections through July 29 for the Columbia River area sport
halibut fishery (Leadbetter Point, Washington to Cape Falcon,
Oregon) indicate that the catch limit of 8,177 pounds will be
reached by July 29. Therefore, the Columbia River area sport
halibut fishery will close for the season at 11:59 p.m. on July
29, 2000.
Washington Puget Sound Sport Halibut Fishery Closed on July
27
The Washington Puget Sound sport halibut fishery (east of the
Sekiu River mouth) closed as scheduled by regulation on July 27,
2000 at 11:59 p.m.
