Quota Share Commercial Fisheries are Closed
for 2000
It is estimated that the following catches
and numbers of landings were made in the British Columbia IVQ
and in the Alaskan IFQ/CDQ fisheries through November 20, 2000.

The quota share fisheries are closed for
2000. Additional halibut landings may occur so these are not the
final estimates for the year.
Annette Island Reserve Fishery in Area 2C
The Metlakatla Indian community has been
authorized by the United States Government to conduct a
commercial halibut fishery within the Annette Island Reserve.
Fifteen 48-hour fishing periods occurred between April 29 and
October 13, with a total catch of 54,026 pounds. The Metlakatla
Reserve Fishery closed on October 13 for 2000.
