Announces Scholarship Fund
The International Pacific Halibut Commission
announces the establishment of a scholarship fund to support
University and Technical College education. The fund has been
established to assist the further education of those connected to
the halibut fishery and its industry. A limited number of
scholarships, each currently valued at $2000 (US) per year, will
be awarded. The scholarships are available to Canadian and U.S.
students with a connection to the halibut industry. A committee of
industry and Commission representatives will review applications
and determine recipients based on academic qualifications, career
goals, and relationship to the halibut fishery. The first
scholarship will be available for educational entrance in Fall
2002. Additional questions can be directed to either Christine

available through the Commission offices and must be received by
August 15, 2002:
