VESSEL CLEARANCES IN AREA 4
As referenced in IPHC halibut regulations,
with the exception of some local Bering Sea fishermen, vessels
fishing in Area 4 are required to clear before fishing and
before unloading for each trip. Clearance forms are
available from fish processors and other agents and starting in
the year 2000, are coded with a unique clearance reference
number specific to the issuing representative and clearance
page. In case of questions about clearances, vessel operators
should record this number for future reference. The IPHC will
use this new coding system as a means of better tracking of
clearances and vessels. Clearance responsibility rests with
vessel operators.
Vessel clearances shall be obtained between
0600 and 1800 hours, local time.
