Commercial landings of Pacfic halibut, 1929-1990
Halibut quotas are set for each of several
IPHC regulatory areas.
The number and boundaries of regulatory areas have changed from time to
time; commercial landings are reported here by area of catch according
to the present definitions.
Halibut landings are still reported in pounds net weight, meaning headed
and gutted weight, which is about 3/4 of round weight. The table below shows
landings in millions of net pounds. To convert to metric tons of round
weight, multiply by (4/3)*1E6/2205=604.5.
