The Commission is testing a new public format for this year's Interim Meeting, scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, 2-3 December. Previous meetings were held in the IPHC headquarters offices in Seattle and, although the meetings have been webcast, the available space limited outside attendance to a small number. This year's Interim Meeting will be held at the Hotel Deca in Seattle, allowing the public to attend. The hotel is located at 4507 Brooklyn Avenue NE in Seattle, near the University of Washington campus.
All of the staff presentations and discussion will be open to public attendance. As in recent years, these public sessions will also be webcast for those unable to attend in person. The executive sessions and finance and administration sessions will not be open. The meeting agenda and webcast information will be posted at the IPHC website (http://iphc.int/meetings-and-events/interim-meeting.html). The webcast recordings and the meeting presentations will also be posted there following the meeting.
The Commission will distribute a brief summary of stock assessment information and the preliminary harvest decision table as soon as possible following the 2014 Interim Meeting. This information will also be available on the Commission's webpage at http://www.iphc.int. The Commission invites proposals for 2015 catch limits or harvest advice. Comments should be submitted to the Commission by December 31, 2014. A summary of all proposals will be posted on the IPHC website when available.
The Ninety-First Annual Meeting of the International Pacific Halibut Commission will be held from Monday, January 26 through Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia. This year's meeting is scheduled to open on Monday with presentations on the fishery, the 2014 stock assessment, and the harvest decision table, and conclude on Friday with Commission approval of catch limits and regulations. All public sessions and administrative sessions will be open to the public. These open sessions will also be webcast.
A block of rooms has been reserved for Annual Meeting attendees at the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel, located at 1128 West Hastings Street in downtown Vancouver.
