Quick and dirty description of wrist holder for pH meters

We made these from wrist protectors manufactured by OK-1 Manufacturing Company
and sold in Seattle by Seattle Marine Supply (Seamar.com).  Their product codes are:
PRODUCT CODE                    PRODUCT
OKMAMBIL                            WRIST SUPPORT AMBIDEXTROUS LG
OKMAMBIM                          WRIST SUPPORT AMBIDEXTROUS MD
OKMAMBIS                           WRIST SUPPORT AMBIDEXTROUS SM
OKMAMBIXL                          WRIST SUPPORT AMBIDEXTROUS XL
I think we used the LG size.
Here is a picture of the meter in the modified holder

I took my wrist protector to a survival suit repair facility in Ballard who had a machine which can sew elastic materials (I think this was called a 'surger').  The wrist protector comes with a broad tightening strap, about 3.5 inches in width.  You slide the protector over your wrist, then wrap the velcro tightening strap around your wrist.  I took the velcro ends off the strap, and reversed them so that we could sew them on the opposite side of the strap end.  You could then lay the protector on the top of your wrist, and use the strap to secure it TO your wrist.  I then had a second thinnerr strap sewn at the top (holed) end  of the protector, to give a second securing strap.  The pH meter is slid into the protector, so that the screen can be read through the thumb hole, or the thin strip of material above the thumb hold can be pulled over the end of the meter, locking it in place (as in the picture).  The meter, in the protector, is laid on top of the wrist, and the two straps are then secured around the wrist to hold it in place.

In this drawing, the shaded areas are the velcro 'loop' areas.  On the wide strap, the velcro 'hook' pads were removed from the spots marked X and XX.  They were then  resewn onto the backside of the broad strap, underneath the area marked XX.

Here is a picture of the holder, with a water bottle slipped into it.  The hole is on the back side, and cannot be seen.  The lower strap had the velcro loops reattached on the end of the strap (you can see which side by the makers label "OK-1" on the strap.  The upper strap is sewn onto the unseen side, right above the thumbhole.

Hope these help
