The main floor

The Living room, which is located at the front of the house.  The photo on the left looks generally toward the front of the house, and the photo on the right is looking towards the picture window on the south side of the house.  The front door is in the left side of the right-hand photo, by the dark spot on the floor.  The floors in the living and dining rooms are hardwood, but need a good sanding and refinishing.  The dark stains in front of the door and to the left of the fireplace are water damage ... not sure if those will come off eaily or are deep-seated.

The dining room, looking from the living room towards the back of the house and into the kitchen.  Both bedrooms and the bathroom are off to the right, through the hallway door.

The "updated kitchen", as the real estate listing claimed.  Yes, considering that the house was built in 1925, the kitchen is updated.  However, I'm guessing it was updated to about 1983 at best (excluding the 1953 stove).  Pictures look better than reality, in fact.  It's all in fine working order, but also a splendid homage to the glory of plastics (read: you're not looking at maple cabinetry and marble countertops).  It's quite large, so there's lots of remodel possibilities.  I imagine a center island and a gas range ...

OK ... standing back in the dining room and looking to the right of the house through the hallway (right) and kitchen door (left).  The main bedroom is through and to the left (the bit of blue), the bathroom is the pink demon peeking through the hallway, and the spare bedroom and stairway down to the basement are through the hall and to the right.

The glorious bathroom.  Oh my.  What can I say?  Nothing that a sledge hammer, Sawzall, entirely new fixtures, and a couple gallons of paint can't solve.

The main bedroom ... to the left is the window that looks over the back yard (one day to lead onto the back porch), and the right-hand window looks out the north side of the house.  The carpet is total garbage, but that's of no consequence, since it will be removed very soon.  The underlying floors are softwood (probably western red cedar), which will be sanded and refinished.

Not great shots, but the spare bedroom, continuing the blue and white theme ... and an apparent love of shoes.  They were wise enough to tear the lame carpet out of this room prior to putting the house on the market (and actually, even the living and dining rooms were carpetted) so you can see the wood floors.  Note the glass doorknob in the left photo; these exist throughout the house and they can stay.
